AIMEE'S STORY

With a love of piercings from a young age, thanks to an ex-alternative-now-corporate mother not afraid to express herself through piercings and tattoos, little Aimee would never have imagined her future could look like running her own piercing & welding jewellery studio!

As a lost soul set on not going to university, she dropped out of sixth form, upping the hours of her part time pub job and fell into a hospitality career spanning 9 years going from a bar maid all the way to being live-in managers with her partner, Danny, and even has her own alcohol licence! During this time, they had their first son in 2019, navigated a global pandemic and had their second son in 2021.

Whilst on maternity leave with a newborn and a toddler, and with a partner that is a chef so works every hour under the sun, Aimee really began to struggle with what she now believes could have been PPD. She felt a little lost, like she had lost all sense of her self and was now just 'mum'. So what did she do? She got some new piercings and booked a gel nail course.

She entered the beauty industry as a nail technician and managed to turn it into a functioning full time career in just over 6 months, all whilst navigating life with two young children, moving out of the pub into a lovely house and supporting Danny with getting a new job too.

It was whilst talking to a client (hey Caroline!) that she had the idea of doing a piercing course, she managed to find one relatively local and booked on, completing this and a blood-borne pathogens course in October 2023. Within the same week of booking the piercing course she found a local jewellery welding workshop and decided to book that too (RIP their house deposit!!) and got cracking!

Over a year later, she has now moved to a studio, decorated it all (no, it's still not finished), built this website from scratch, launched an online jewellery store, perfected her welds for her welded jewellery, sourced reputable ethical suppliers and stabs peoples ears and noses - for fun!

"I have had a love for piercings and jewellery for as long as I can remember, getting my nose pierced when I was just 12 and wearing a tiny red stud so it looked like a spot!

But once I got older, I found that most piercing studios only offer a bog-standard range of dark jewellery and I could never work out if the pretty jewellery available to buy online was safe in new piercings or when I could change my jewellery over.

So I decided to build this website offering you the pretty dainty jewellery we all want, in piercing suitable, implant grade titanium, that can be worn from day one of your piercing. And if you are local to me I can pierce you too!

Alongside the jewellery, I want this website to be the hub of information we all want and need for piercings so any questions you may have, I hope I have answered somewhere on this site!

I am so proud of what I have managed to build so far and can not wait to see where this business takes me over the next few years."
